Alex Vogt has lived in the Bury area his whole life. He is currently a Board Director at Curtins, an award winning multi-disciplinary engineering firm with 14 offices across the UK and circa 400 staff members. Along with the other Board Members he is responsible for all finance, human resources, business development, health and safety, legal and technical matters that affect the business. Alex is also a parent to two children and to support their school (Heaton Park Primary) he became a Parent Governor and later Chair of Governors. Alex has held this role for circa 3 years which has provided invaluable experience with regard to the curriculum, the school finances, recruitment, safeguarding and SEND.  He believes his business background, experience as Governor and his desire to help the local community makes him well placed for this position.

For the last 15 years, Andrew has been the Director/owner of four start-up waste management brokerage limited companies. He has held many senior management and Director roles within the waste management industry, accountable for the leadership, general management and performance of regional and national multi-site structures, including employment and management of up to 250 staff in senior management, operational, transportation, engineering, sales and customer support roles. Andrew was key in identifying and managing the acquisition of other businesses and rationalising these, before consolidating them within his business, dealing with reorganisation and restructuring of these units. He has project managed the operation and subsequent sale of an international engineering business and has operated a multi-site national business, providing the leadership and management, holding management to account for budget targets, operational, staff, asset and health and safety management. Andrew has been a governor, including a Chair, for over 30 years. He is currently a Trustee at Prestolee Academy and his is committed to improving education and life chances for children.

Emma has spent the last 30 years working in sales, with the last 20 years in the healthcare sector. During this time, Emma has worked with a number of NHS departments, building relationships and supporting specialist nurses. Emma’s current role is in the ostomy sector, working to educate specialist nurses on existing and new innovate products to provide better outcomes for patients. Emma works with all of the Greater Manchester NHS Trusts as part of her wider North West Territory Manager’s role for Hollister. When her son was younger, Emma spent many years helping the administration side of his football team and could be found on the side of the pitch come rain or shine. Now that he has grown up, Emma is looking forward to help to contribute to children’s education as a member of the Trust.

Jeremy has been a governor at Cams Lane since 2012, holding the role of Chair between 2015 and 2020. He initially joined as a parent governor, and now his children have left the school he stayed on to support school’s development. His background is in education, being an Early Years teacher for fifteen years and now currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Montessori Education at Leeds Beckett University. Jeremy sees his main role as a governor is in supporting the trust in developing its plans to ensure that the children are able to receive the best possible education and leave the schools as confident, caring and independent individuals, ready for the next stage of their lives.
